1 Million Citizens
Cannot Vote.
Almost 1 million Australians
have lost their right to vote.
Around 4% of Australia’s population, approximately 1 million citizens, currently live overseas. Although 75% of us will one day return to live in Australia and 79% of us still call Australia home, current legislation leaves the vast majority of us with neither a vote nor a voice regarding the future of our country.
Australians for Overseas Representation (AusFOR) advocates full voting rights for all Australian citizens and the introduction of overseas representation to address expatriate causes in Federal Parliament.
